True Growth

I have a story that I am going to share a experience that I have witnessed that has really opened my eyes on how to achieve growth in sales or MLM.  I am a Christian, and not to long ago I joined a really small Church in the local area.  Now let me preface this by saying that I used to hate Christians, and what they stood for before I met one in real life.  I discovered that: like in our industry Christianity is FILLED with hypocrites and liars.  Which may make you upset, but once you understand that you cant have good without evil, and you learn how to deal with it, it isn't so bad.  In fact it wont really phase you other than the fact that it is sad that their are people out there getting duped.  Now with that being said, I have watched our Church grow from 3 people in a pavilion at the local park to almost 20 people every week held at a location that we don't pay rent to use.

Now at this point I know that your asking yourself what in the HECK does this have to do with Network Marketing.  Well if you are growing your business I would dare to assume that you would like to one day have a large organization.  Great do you know who had more loyal followers than anyone in history, and even after his death have people that love and praise his name.  That person is Jesus.  Now if the mention of this offends you I pray that you can learn to have more of an open mind.

There are several reasons why people love Jesus, but for the sake of this article I am going to focus on the things that relate to the kind of work that we do as marketers.  Here are things that Jesus did that had a major impact on peoples decision to follow him.

1. Jesus had all the answers:  Now of course it is impossible for you to have all the answers, but it is important for you to know the answers to the most common questions you get and be prepared to answer them.  Also you need to be in constant study so that if your team has questions on something you can give them guidance.

2. Jesus cared about his people:  This is so important you need to start thinking more about the well being of your team than you do of yourself.  This means that you should be consumed daily thinking of ways that even your can people who cant seem to get it can do that can help them see success..

3. Jesus gave value:  People hate wasting time especially when it comes to working hard at MLM and only having frustration and suffering to show for it.  So find out ways to give people value help them realize their short comings ways they can maximize productivity.  Just be a fountain of value.

  • # 3 is Probably the most important insight in know of.
4. Jesus was determined to save humanity:  Your determination if you want a serious team one of which people cant help but beg to be on should have the determination of changing the lives of everyone you possibly can.  Your focus has to be as much on others as it is on self development.

Stop Recruiting

Recruiting this is a topic that seems to be very popular among MLM experts.  Think about it, I don't know you or who you look up to, but if your experience in MLM has been anything like mine was you are listening to someone who preaches that.  When it comes down to real life and what actually works recruiting is dumb.

So if recruiting doesn't work why do people preach on it. Well it is  good for some people and a lot of companies today aren't legit so essentially they pay you to recruit. But speaking as someone who has been burned by scams, and felt the pain that is recruiting. It is not something that I would suggest.

One of the reasons I don't like or even condone recruiting is because in order to make money with recruiting you have to recruit a TON of people.  But, in reality you can only successfully mentor 2-3 people at a time.  Because of this fact,  if you choose to recruit you will experience high attrition rates and your team will not be loyal.

So at this point you should have realized that if you want to build a strong business that will last untill you die, no matter what happens to your company you need to stop recruiting.

You may be asking yourself how do I build a business without recruiting people.  That is actually a fantastic question.  You see MLM despite what the gurus say is not so much a sales business as it is a teaching&mentoring business.  So your goal should be not to recruit but to sponsor and mentor your people.  But in order to be successful at this industry there is one skill you need to really have mastered.  That skill is building relationships, without ulterior motives.  So my suggestion for you is to just start listening to others truly care about what's going on with them.  If their is an opportunity for you to suggest your business casually say " are you open to other avenues of income?"  If they say yes qualify them.

THE ONLY THING YOU NEED

Until recently I spent a MASSIVE amount of time studying people in MLM who I thought were gurus. They seemed extremely knowledgeable and their advice worked decently.  So my thoughts were " Well they have 1,000s of people following them so they must know what they are talking about if they could build a business like that."  It is unfortunate for me as well as you that most of these people are SCAMs.  I know, it  is hard to bear , and you probably don't want to hear it.  Well that's good because I am not hear to sugarcoat things for you.  Or tell you what you want to hear.  I am here to give advice that can potentially get you on a pathway to actually building a flourishing Network Marketing business, that if done correctly will pay you WELL for the rest of you life.  So now we can focus on the point of this post I had to preface the post with this to help you understand that at first I didn't want to believe that these people, that I had looked up to and revered were only trying to keep me in a perpetual state of funding their next vacation by buying the products they told me I needed.  It is IMPORTANT to understand that I am not complaining.  EVERYTHING happens for a reason and GOD challenges us and puts us through things sometimes to teach us valuable lessons.

So the question you might now be asking is "If MOST of the MLM gurus are scams, what works and what can I do to be successful."  That is a awesome question and it is not going to be covered in one post, but the good news is I have a book that covers that topic in a MARVELOUS fashion and I am going to give you access to it for FREE.  Why, well because the people who really know how to build a huge MLM business DONT:

1. Come out with NEW products constantly.
2. Promise You The WORLD but never ANSWER your calls.
3. Charge you for their time.
4. Recruit You and never talk to you again.
5. Lead you down a path of misery.
6. Have Care for your dreams.

How your Advertising?

If you are in a home based business and your struggling I can almost guarantee that your not advertising. It amazes me how many business owners have no interest in advertising, ARE YOU SERIOUS how do you expect people to buy from you. I know you may not like the electronic age but the fact is its here, and baring a meteor strike or nuclear war its here to stay. So what you have to ask yourself is what should I choose to do with my business? This is what I would suggest.

1. Figure out who you want to market to, if you have a great product that is attractive to car people advertise to them not stay at home moms. You have to study your market, and figure out what their needs are.

2. You need to forget about the appearance of your blog. If you are a small company, or just starting out: just take action even if your blog looks like crap continue to work at it. YOU HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE.

3. Use FACEBOOK you have to realize that FACEBOOK has become part of our lives. It is almost like a virtual world we live in. And the MAGIC thing about facebook is MOST of our society use it to connect and find things they want. So your goal in MARKETING/ADVERTISING is to become really easily accessible. The easier you are to find, or get a hold of the more likely people are to buy whatever you sell.

4. Make sure you figure out what problems your customers face and have SOLUTIONS to their problems. If you can enable your clients/prospects to figure out how to solve the problems they have. They will buy from you without thinking. This is why INFOMERCIALS sell so much stuff; one they are EVERYWHERE. Secondly they advertise solutions. I find myself wanting to buy the stuff on infomercials without researching first which is how they get you.

5. Study:

always be studying your industry and marketing. Because marketing and advertising is something that is always changing and evolving. So if you don't keep up you will miss out on prospects you might have gotten otherwise.

Presenting how should you do it?

  This is a question I have been hearing a lot about lately and I think it is incredibly relevant in terms of the profession of network marketing.  In the begining of my MLM career I thought that my presentation was what would create my financial success.  Well I happened to be off in that respect because that is not the way the real world works.  Being able to present is not really the most important part of your skills as a marketer.  You may ask yourself how could this possibly be true, well while it is good for you to be fairly proficient at presenting your business it is really not the presentation that people identify with.  This is mainly because people dont look at a presentation on merits of how well you covered your points and weather or not you achieved getting through your presentation in a flawless fashion.  What they look at is the hidden stuff, this is why it is particularly bad for people who have little product/company knowledge to present the product.  Because while they may very well be able to talk about the company with some intelligence they may try to hide the fact that they are in desperate need of  money,leads, etc.  And these are the exact things the audience will pick up on.

So as far as presenting goes it is more important for you to send them to a video and follow up.  My primary company which I love doesnt have a great video to send people to so this was something I struggled a lot with in the begining.  I dont really think a whole lot about presenting anymore because I use automated systems.  For example I have a capture page that I send people to that gets them curious about what it is that I do.  Then I send them to a personal video channel I created on the internet that has a bunch of different videos that I think do a good job of explaining the product.  Then if the prospect went through and watched all those more than likely all I have to do is explain to them what I do in my personal business and how my team has a very cuting edge approach.  

The most important thing you want to remember in all of this , is while the business that we are in at its base level is a numbers game it is more important that we FOCUS on building relationships with as many people as humanly possible.
